Bearing Witness In The Colony
First Church, The Colony is collecting backpacks and school supplies for the City of The Colony's Back-2-School Bash. The event is held at The Colony Recreation Center.
Blessing of the Backpacks
Each year the Sunday before school starts, we invite students to bring their backpacks to be blessed by the Pastor during worship services. Any educators or school employees are also encouraged to come and receive a special blessing.
LISD Prayer Walk
The LISD Prayer Walk is an annual event where we, in conjunction with other local churches, take the opportunity to pray for our schools and future generations the Sunday before school begins.
Our goal is to have a minimum of 3 people representing each school in The Colony. We need Prayer Warriors who will pray either by braving the heat and walking at a designated school or by praying at church. The commitment is simple. Spread the word, then be at the church where we will provide a lunch prior to the walk, as well as bottled water to take with you.
