Lay Leadership

The activities and programs of FUMC The Colony would not be possible without the dedication of our many leaders and volunteers. The Lay Leadership committee is charged with identifying members of the congregation who are willing to give of their time and talents to further the ministries of the church, both locally and worldwide.

At First Church, we welcome the energy, ideas, and devotion of all of our members and visitors in creating a local church where everyone feels welcomed and is able to grow in the love of God through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

In order to do this, the committee:

• Maintains a list of all committees and positions
• Identifies and nurtures members of the congregation who are willing to serve
• On an annual basis, presents a list of nominations to the charge conference for the upcoming year
• On an ongoing basis, identifies members to fill empty positions
